Like I said, the recoil is a little rough but manageable where I can shoot through 200 rounds in a session and be ok. When I shot 100 rounds through the Keltec PF9 and my right hand (grip hand) was tore up.

IMO, the recoil is less noticeable on the XD subcompact + the trigger pull is great.

I'm going to go the range, rent or borrow 5 compact guns and see which one I like. The suggestions have been great.

Adding one more to the equation at the recommendation of a friend: XDM 9MM. They are at the max of around $650 budget but my buddy says it's his favorite CC gun he owns.
