Heading down to Gulf Shores for a week. Can anyone help me out on fishing in the area? Baits / Areas / ect.

I was there a few weeks ago. Saw a good number of guys fishing from the beach...wasting their time. go, sit, throw the fooseball, get drunk, and have a good time

Don't listen to them. I've never fished from the beach in my life and I caught a few fish in two afternoons there last week. And I did it with a rod and reel combo that I bought at the local walmart for $24, and only fished from the state park beach while the wife and kid played.
I feel like if I had any idea what I was doing, I'd probably have caught quite a few.
