Quality control on the Handi-Rifle seems to be spotty. Most folks get good ones and really love them, but.......there are some, like one of my friends, who get a bad one, and hate them. He's a very experienced handloader and shooter and has basically given up on making it shoot even barely adequate groups. He even sent it back to the company. They sent it back w/ a target that had a small sized group on it and said it shot well. They didn't say what the load was or the distance. If you get a good one, you'll like it.

I have one in the "Buffalo Classic". Put a limbsaver pad and a trigger job on it. I like it and thought it was good(it is), until I shot my son in laws CVA Optima Elite. There is no comparison in the two. Buffalo Classic-$375 plus limb saver-$60 plus trigger job $40=$475. CVA $249 off the rack shoots better, has a great trigger, recoil pad and sling in the package. You do the math! I bought one.

if you got the $ buffalo bore makes some powerful 45-70
(2000 + fps ) rounds that are very effective to 200 yards. hornady leverevolution ammo is quiet nice too(2050 fps). the remington core lokts are only around 1300-1400 fps max.
