Golf Cart battery charger?

I have a club car 48v golf cart that charges and runs fine. I don't charge said golf cart every day because I only use it once a week or so and only ride it for about 30 minutes when we do ride it. I put cart on the charger today and about 4 hours later I noticed it was only charging at about 5 amps, less than that an hour later. What is the normal charging amps the charger should show and does it fluctuate?

As the batteries charge the current flow will drop. If the charger is an automatic type it will shut off when it needs to and the float charge as needed.
