Depends smaller bass boat or Jon boat used for bass fishing I like foot controlled. My
Opinions based on price and ease of use.
Inshore been on the fence looking at buying a bay boat. I would go with remote control ones and just pay for convience along with ease of use.

i have on off buttons on both sides of the bow. speed and directional i control with the arm on the trolling motor. works great for bass fishing, but came with the bass boat. I'd probably buy one with a remote and foot controls if i were to get a new one.

Well my decision has been made for me. My buddy just installed an ipilot and is selling me his hand control 101 riptide that’s only 3 years old for cheap. Thanks for all the opinions guys!

Only downside is he painted it black. Any ideas on the best way to remove the black paint? Trying to avoid putting another layer of paint on it.

If somebody told me the only thing I could use is a hand control trolling motor for the rest of my life. I would quit fishing. lol
I use a foot control, but I’m mostly a freshwater fisherman. If I was going to be in saltwater mostly. I would go with a I-pilot type motor. I know a few people that have them on bass boats and love them also. You could make it work, but would be tricky maneuvering in shallow water with a lot of snags.

Yeah me too, couldn’t do it. If I had a different boat just for saltwater maybe so
