Fixing rust in chamber

My son recently went on a coot shoot with some friends. Instead of using good shells he shot some old rusted shells. This has caused the chamber to rust in spots no matter how much we wipe and oil the rust.
Would using cold blue on the bare spots help protect the metal? We are both diligent about wiping/cleaning our guns and this is making us sick.
Stupid flying gizzards.

have you tried using 000 or 0000 steel wool to take the rust off then coat with some CLP

I agree with trying the steel wool. Maybe a scotchbrite pad, not sure if that would be less abrasive or not though.
But if it just surface rust, a little oil and fine steel wool will take it right off and not harm the finish.
