Make sure whatever you have on will block the wind. Not sure where you are hunting in the state but all of western Ohio and anywhere near the lakes is going to be windy. Insanely windy.
Also bring a big cooler, Ohio deer are huge

They allow straight wall cartridge rifles as previously said, for the week after Thanksgiving.

It doesn't seem like many of those are popular deer hunting rifle cartridges though.

Yeah. No one is going to pick one of these over a .30-06 or .270 or .308 etc. unless they have to. Straight walled cartridges aren’t exactly long range. Ohio allows them because of the terrain, it’s flat, no trees etc.

Turns out we're using scoped shotguns for the hunt.
Went out and practiced today and I'm confident I can make a clean kill.
