I wouldn't say they're shitty. Grotesquely overpriced, yes. But not shitty.

Mine did that in may. Battery was bad. Hope it's nothing turrible

Actually mine did it the night before a final. I went to leave with 15 minutes til the test and it didn't turn over. I ended up getting jumped off, couldn't find parking, parked all crooked as frick in a motorcycle space, ended up 10 minutes late. Finished test in 20 minutes and aced it like a boss.

Damn. So that's what happened when you said you broke down?

Probably not the most opportune time to get your yak stolen.

Sorry to keep bringing that up.

I blew a head gasket and fricked up a few other things. Turns out the problem was the relay for my fan blew a fuse, causing it to over heat rapidly and blow the frick up. It's been a rough month for me, but at least I have friends who keep it fresh in my mind daily.

ETA: If someone sees my car on the side of Lee, feel free to toss a grenade in the front seat. TIA

How tough is it to replace an alternator?

The starter was a whole lot easier than I thought.

whats it in? used to be real easy on the old broncos i used to work in, lots of room around the enginge, could be a pain in the arse in newer vehicles though with all the electronics

My dad and I did one in an expedition. And he did a couple on the old ranger. The trick is you'll have to loosen the tensioning pulley on your belt to be able to replace it I'd I remember correctly. The difficulty of it depends on the vehicle. I'm not terribly experienced with it though.
