Always bitter sweet to get rid of a boat. I swapped with my brother as he doesn't use the boat but once or twice a year. I'll just give it back to him in a couple years when I upgrade. It is a 2000 model boston whaler 17' Montauk with a 90 hp merc two stroke. Huge upgrade from the 1997 15' war eagle with 40hp merc I have been fishing.
Mine is a 96 17' Spectrum with 75 Force. It was my first boat and what got me into fishing. Bought it about 7 years ago when I started college. Lots of good memories in it, but the last 2.5 years of owning it have been miserable.
I got a baby on the way and both me and my wife are back in grad school, so I can't hardly afford to fix it again.

Slick, you never got another boat yet?
Nope been waiting on you to buy me one. I went crazy with money spending this summer, so it got put off. I got a baby on the way, which led to us selling my wife's sports car and buying her an SUV, wife decided to go back to grad school, which led to me deciding to go back to grad school.
I hate free time.

One day I'm gonna get rid of my 1860 Alumacraft with 115 Mercury Optimax with 80 hours on the motor that I bought in 2005 and is garage kept.

I only buy boats that have steering mechanisms that work.

Steering is drastically overrated.

Pretty much my ideal boat. I was looking at the 18' Lowe and G3s with the 115s. Let me know if you decide to get rid of it in about 5 years when I can afford it.

I wonder what my wife would say if I just pulled up with a new boat one day. She probably wouldn't even notice.
I could do a little jigaloing on the side for the extra cash.

I have got to get outta this mood, I'm more interested in getting laid than going fishing.

If you're not hooking up with the fish, are you at least hooking up with the ladies?
