You can make your own seam sealer or waterproofing very easily and far cheaper than buying it.

You need:
1. tube of CLEAR silicone (100% silicone caulking)
2. Mineral Spirits, Odorless

To make seam sealer you mix it at a 1:1 ratio (by weight)
To make waterproofing mix it at a 1:4 ratio (1 part silicone, 4 parts mineral spirits, by weight).

To mix it takes a little time but it's rather simple. You need a drill, a wooden dowel, and some zip ties.

Put the dowel in the drill and at the end of the dowel put three or four zip ties (to act as blades).

Put a jar on a scale. Add some silicone caulking. Check weight. Add appropriate amount of mineral spirits.

Mix for three to five minutes and voila!

Apply soon because it won't keep for long and it will start to gel within a few minutes.

I
As for longevity I couldn't say, but it should last as long as any commercial product IMO.

made the seam sealer for my DIY Winter tarp (hammock). I first finished off a tube of silnet seam sealer (covered less than half the tarp) and finished it with the homemade seam sealer. I can't tell the difference.

I also made the waterproofing and applied it to an old tent fly (painted it on with a foam paint brush) but haven't tested it yet, though it looks solid. I made that batch a little closer to 3:1 ratio than 4:1.
