Own 4 870s and a nova. Prefer the 870, but both are quality. I would advise against wood stock for marsh hunts and advise for the 3.5" chamber/barrel

for $700 you can get a Browning Pump(BPS)

If you are a lefty then go for a Browning BPS, It ejects out the bottom instead of the right side. Its a little more money than the other 2, but its probably the best pump made. IF not I would just go with either of the 2 that you suggested.
