Put it on wheels. As they scratch an crap every where you can move the cage to fresh ground.

Keep a dozen sell the others, pays for feed and coop upkeep. Easy sell at $3.50/dozen for free range eggs.

I know some people with a mobile coop. They move it around there yard every couple of weeks.

Keeps that section of the yard free of pest, aerates the ground, and fertilizes. Move the coop around to keep the chickens from completely destroying the area.
