Cheap rod for a Shimano Baitrunner 6500B?

Preferably something I can buy from wally world or sports authority. Taking a couple buddies out fishing tomorrow and neither have a rod/reel (wtf).

Just go to Wal-Mart and buy their $15 rod. If it breaks return it.

Anything in the $40-$50 range that'll last me a while? Cheap ugly stick?

Yeah they have casting rods for about $20 that are ugly sticks. I don't know if your individual Wally World will carry one or not though.
For the $50 range you could have bought a combo from Academy/Sports Authority though.

I've had the baitrunner just sitting around, I need to get a rod for it anyways. What's something in the $50 range that will work well.

That thing is huge for trout. That's what I would use for sharks/cobia. Yeah an ugly stick will work great. Or a Penn Squadron. Pulled a 75# Warsaw out of a platform with one a few months ago
