Just wear, wash and repeat. It will last for a hell of a long time, but their clothing in general take a while to break in.
I've got Carhartt double front jeans that I've had for years, wear weekly and they are still stiff after they are washed.

Wash it as many times as you can and then wear it for any outdoor project you can - the more the better. Only way is just use. Excellent jacket and will last you a very long time.
