ive broke castaways and i have buddy that bought a brand new high dollar helium rod (whatever they are called, cant think right now) on the first trip out.

out of the 3. once was my fault... i hammered down own one right at the boat with braid... any rod would have broke.. the other was a tip that may or may not have been stepped on...

There my be nothing wrong with them now, and I'm not knocking anyone for fishing them. They are very sensitive rods no doubt. I just have a tough time fishing a rod that I personally have no confidence in.

If you got All Star platinums then thats a hella good deal.

When you get a chance tell me how they fish..I might invest in some for my kids.

I have never owned or fished a Kistler rod but I have heard they're top notch.

I really don't need any more rods as I own 12. I was just thinking about getting my boys set up with a decent rod for low cost while I teach them to throw a baitcaster.

I got three All Star Platinums. They are good rods, and for $60 they are a steal.

I just went to Cabelas to check out that Mojo Bass.
The 7" Med-Heavy is a little flimsy.... I like a little more stiff of a rod even at 7ft. The Abu Garcia Veritas seemed pretty sweet though. Also, the Falcon Low Rider of course is nice..

any more in-put? TIA

All of my St. Croix rods have great backbone. They aren't pool que stiff. They are about equal to the Falcon or carrot stick.

You might have been looking at the 7 foot MH crankbait version. It is a little flimsy for treble hooks.

i know tackle warehouse only has certain actions left. and not sure about cabelas.... simmons sporting goods has an ebay store... sometimes you cant find hellacious deals on it... ive bought stuff from them before.. if you are buying multiple things.. like 3 rods or so... ask them what kind a deal you get for buying more than one..

i bought 3 stix a couple years ago and he knocked out $40.. there top notch folk
