BPS, LEWS, and a few other brands are made by Doyo out of Korea.
I actually have a few Doyo reels which I like as you can buy them with different handles and spools.
They work fine for me.
I used Diawa for the past few years and just switched back to Doyo or brands made by Doyo such as BPS & Lews line.
As far as rods I build my own and that way I get what I want.
