Went to my local gunshop today to get a Tactical Solutions Pac-lite upper to go on my 22/45. The TS was $275 with a fluted barrel and scope mount. While I was looking around I noticed a couple of Ruger 22/45 Lites. They were only $299 for the whole gun. So I left and decided I better research this a little more. I went in there to get the TS because it had a threaded barrel and I wanted to use my suppressor on my Ruger. Anyone shot a 22/45 Lite?

No I don't own one, but I have shot one. I would buy the 22/45 lite before buying just the barrel.

I have been looking on Gunbroker and they are going for $450 to $500. He must have got some kind of deal on them to offer them for that price. Going to go back tomorrow and pick one up. The reviews I have been reading are all positive. I was a little nervous about the pac-lite anyway because I have a Tactiacl Solutions .22 conversion for my Glock and it has had all kinds of problems with failure to fire and failure to feed. Sent it back once and it still will not fire 4 consecutive rounds.

Get the 22/45 LITE. It has everything you want and nothing you don't. It comes with iron sights, a pic rail for the top, a barrel-in-upper design that keeps it lightweight, and there's already a threaded muzzle.

Get it and if you hate it, get a TAC solutions upper. Do you want to be drilling bullseyes or just plinking? If it's the former, get the TAC upper, and if it's the latter, get the 22/45.

Why do you think that the Pac-lite will be more accurate?

If the TAC upper costs almost as much as a 22/45 alone and has a fluted barrel, I would assume it's match grade or near-match grade.

Also, a thicker barrel is inherently more accurate than a thin one. They are mainly used to combat heat and retain accuracy but they are also inherently more sturdy and do not flex as much, and hence, lead to more accuracy.
