Anyone have any suggestions? The 4.8 on the stock trigger I am at now is tiresome. Have a recommendation from gunsmith for a Jewel. Seem to get good reviews. Any others I should consider?

Go on the Timney website they should have what you need, I have also ordered Timney from Midway USA , Jewel is a great trigger though, I have a Schiling in my STW it has been great.

I thought the original M70 triggers were good/adjustable?

Call Timney, they have great customer service and will ensure you get exactly what you need.

Doesn't answer the OP's question about a 70, but I replaced my 30yr old 70BDL's trigger with a Timney. Love it. Has made my old .25-06 feel like a new rifle.

If I remember correctly, Carlos Hathcock shot a model 70. Probably right around 1964. I bet he could point you in the right direction if he was still alive. Might be sol.
