AC Help Updated

Does anyone have an idea what may be wrong with my AC? The inside and outside units will run, but no air is coming out of the vents. Nothing is frozen up outside. Fan motor??
Update: it was the coil, had a leak and was freezing up.

Well you said that inside unit is running.
That IS the blower. You may have an X 13 motor, that is turning slowly, stopping and confusing spin backward then forward, etc.
That will be a module, piggybacked on the blower motor

You have a Freon issue, maybe a leak.

Yeah, the unit in attic is running but no air coming out of the vents.

Ok, that sounds like something that I can’t handle. I guess I’ll call a service person tomorrow

Normally I’d say its frozen and the air can’t get thru ice, in which case it could be a freon issue, but u said not froze

Not frozen from what I can see. I checked lines outside and they look fine

Too far. Ok, probably a motor module.
Brand ? Age ?

Not sure of the brand, I just came down out of the attic, but it’s almost 10 yrs old

Carrier / bryant has an inexpensive motor that replaces the factory x13 mtr.
Works well.

Slightly pull one side of air filter out of grille, then let go. See if it gets sucked back in, or throw layer of toilet paper on grille, see if vacuum holds the paper .

When you say that it runs, is the fan spinning outside?
I’m thinking it’sa capacitor

He said the inside unit was running. My guess is he is hearing something, but it’s not spinning 100%.
OR
It is frozen, in which case his evap coil fins are plugged, or low on freon.

Probably low on refrigerant and coil is frozen
Or air filter is very dirty. Check your filter first

It sounds like the squirrel cage on the blower in the attic either broke or the set screw holding it onto the motor shaft loosened up somehow. But if that happened it would cause the lines to freeze up do to lack of airflow across evaporator coil. That is providing the system is charged up to the required amount of Freon

1) The air filter was changed about 2 weeks ago so it’s clean . 2) the outside fan is spinning 3) the inside unit is sucking air through the intake
