Looking for an inshore baitcaster that won't break the bank to pair with a vendetta rod. Saw the Orra. Anyone have any experience?

I have an Orra SX. IMO if you're gonna get it spend the extra $20 for a Revo S. my brothers Orra level wind quit working after 6 months or so.

I have no experience with the orra inshore fwiw. Only use curado and spinning reels inshore fishing

Welcome back boats. I was actually looking at the inshore model so the revo s would be cheaper. I'd just as soon go with the sx which would be a 10 dollar increase for a lighter reel and I have to admit, the blank and red to match the rod doesn't hurt!

I'm just concerned about it holding up to the salt. How do I tell if a reel is saltwater approved? I've always been a freshwater guy.

It'll be ok. Just strip the line and clean it real good after every trip.

I have a Revo SX. My favorite reel I own. More than the curado E. Just make sure you keep it cleaned from the salt to keep the magnetic brakes working right. Which shouldn't be a problem unless you're dunking it in salt without rinsing after the trip.

Not a problem, I'll just hose it down with the yak after we're back.

I don't even worry about stripping the line. Rinse it real good (don't spray hard from a nozzle, it'll push saltwater inside...just light spray) then spray reel magic on the line. Works like a charm.

I like to soak mine in the sink overnight, it may be overkill, but none of my shite has ever broken because of salt.

I used to soak but I quit. Cheap spinning reels always ended up getting water in them after soaking and would rust out quick. I find a good rinse is fine, and oil after being dunked surf fishing or every few trips.

My cleaning of reels is a bit overkill, but I saltwater fish 95% of the time and have to keep my shite clean as a whistle.

Speaking of surf fishin, I'm about ready to do some.

I'm ready but I need to have success this year. Last year it seemed like the few days I picked were the only off days people had in a month long stretch of good fishing. Story of my life
