I find a rod a like.
Check the spline

He doing it on a rod piece.
You do the same thing to a built rod.
Sometimes you will find the spline not lined up.
No matter how great the rod will want to go back to its spline when you are fighting the fish.
It will feel terrible.

I pretty much run Falcon cara, low riders, or bucoo.
Other guys may like brand xyz.
If the spline lines up then you will enjoy the rod more.

Mostly what I blanks I use now.

Old Fisher blanks for offshore.

Cost with guides, string, etc you looking $100 to $150. Bulk of your cost is the guides and blank.
