1911 owners need some help

I'm looking for a Sig 1911 Nightmare carry... So far I found one at Cabela's for 1099.00. Can anyone point me to any dealers that might have them in stock, and not overly priced. Would prefer to purchase in person, but will purchase from gun broker if I have to.

I've been watching them on gunbroker - they can be had for $839 plus shipping and FFL fees. That's way cheaper than a retailer. Throw in tax and we're talking two bills worth of savings.

Bud's Gun Shop
I know you said you would prefer to buy in person but Bud's has one. Will ship to your FFL of choice.

The Sig is pretty sweet but there are some other good 1911s out there too.
SW1911SC, Remington R1 Carry, and Ruger SR1911 Commander all come to mind and are commander sized.
EDIT: Not all R1 Carrys are commanders.

I keep looking at other make/models but keep coming back to the nightmare

Man, I can't say anything bad at all about my 5" Nightmare. With three outings so far, it has been flawless.
With the bobtail, it just feels sooooooooooo good in the hand. Shoots like a dream. Just shot mine some more today. Absolutely in love with the thing. Do it!

They had a Sig 1911 at Bowies in Natchez last week. Not sure of the model though.

Why are you set on the nightmare?

I love the combination of black and stainless

Fair enough, I just think there's better out there for $1200

$970 at Bud's with free shipping.
5" model is $960

I can see 950 for that, not 1200

So, not to trample all over the OP's thread, but...
If you had say $1500 to spend on a 1911 KR, what would you go with?
A Dan Wesson?

As an owner of a Dan Wesson classic bobtail I

For 1500 you can't beat a Kimber. Pick a Kimber in that range and you won't be disappointed. But specifically, for 1500 I'm picking the covert II.

I saw a nightmare at Jefferson Gun Outlet a while ago. Can't remember how much though.

Seems like lots of folks dis on Kimber these days for some reason. I have heard lots of negativity concerning their customer service and the fact that their warranty is only one year.
I love the looks of their Super Carry Custom HD. Generally speaking, all of their 1911s are nice looking.

That's people repeating the words of a few. I love the new master carry II. Just can't justify getting one.

Get a SR1911....I shoot mine several times a week and it's a sweet shooting weapon.
