yup, if you hit behind the skull with the soft points you would damage a lot of meat. if you do that with the FMJs it is a neat hole. The hog I shot with the FMJ dropped like a brick

Guy I hunt with traps hogs. He takes em out with a .22wmr using fmj’s. I asked why and he said it does less damage and flies through them. He let my oldest knock out 5 sows in one of his traps one day and he was right. My boys first shot was a perfect head shot broadside, bullet went through and smoked another one. I was pretty sold after witnessing it.

Yep, even if you screw up and hit the body, you're not going to have a lot of meat damage unless you hit right on a shoulder.
