Didn't they put some antler requirements in place a few years ago? I assume that will help, or is helping, also.

Yeah, I don't know exactly when that happened. Honestly, I don't know how many people actually follow the rule. There's a lot of camps shooting spikes, deer with screwed up racks, 6 points of certain ages, etc... Which is suggested by biologists.

I grew up in a camp that had a 4 on one side and at least 15 inch spread requirement. It was just enough to learn how to hunt and have fun with it, but also taught me some patience.

I live/hunt in the Delta Zone, btw.

It is a long story, Louisiana screws Mississippi residents on Fishing Licenses and Mississippi returns the favor on Hunting licenses. We tried to fix this years ago and actually got the Legislature of each state to send a representative of each State Wildlife agency to work out a compromise and then Mississippi sent Corky Perret and that was the end of that. (He was former Louisiana Wildlife employee fired for embezzlement or something and hired by Mississippi so he could keep his seat on MGCMFC)

THis all started after Louisiana went up like 50 on Fishing License. I think we threated to put a 5x or 10x multiplier on any future increases as a warning to both Fisheries to cut it out.

The simple truth is they (Both State Wildlife agencies) are in together both because they make a lot of money out of it, it is that simple.

Sorry we tried....
