I received this from my cousin who used to write for the Hammond paper. Please check out the site and if you think it worthy, donate. Maybe some of you know of the writer she's referring to.

Dear Family and Friends,
I am forwarding a new web address on behalf of my longtime friend, Susan Mustafa. We attended college together at SLU. She is well known in the Baton Rouge area as a journalist and author of Blood Bath (I've Been Watching You)--a best selling book and Pulitzer nominee for true crime genre regarding the Baton Rouge serial killer, Derrick Todd Lee. Susan and her family have been deeply moved by the BP oil spill as we all have. She resolved to do something to help, and started a non-profit to help the La. Gulf fishermen and their families. All monies donated through her site will pay the mortgages of La. Gulf fishermen. There are T-shirts and bumper stickers available to purchase, and Susan is using her journalism skills and contacts to report on what is happening with the spill and its impact on everyone affected by the crisis. I am so proud to know Susan and support her in her efforts to help those affected by this crisis in some small way. It shows the goodness in her heart, and she leads by example by actually doing something positive to help. I hope you will take a look at the site--make a donation if you can or buy something from the online store. On a personal note, I was born and raised in Baton Rouge. Until the age of 16, I never knew there was such a thing as vacationing anywhere but Grand Isle, La. I have a deep love for my native Louisiana and my second home in Mississippi. I have wonderful memories of time spent with family and friends in Vacherie, La., Biloxi, MS; Ft. Walton Beach, Pensacola, Galveston, TX. Katrina took away so many places and people I will always love and hold deep in my heart. This oil spill (gusher) will filter down to each U.S. citizen in one way or another. If you can't help financially, please forward the information about the site to everyone you can. Please visit Susan's website at: wwwdeephorizonspill.org . Thank you for helping me support my friend in her noble venture, and thank you for doing whatever you can to help those affected by the BP spill.
With kindest regards,
Rebecca Guillot
