Memorial Day Text Campaign to Raise Money For the Bayou

“Music for Relief”, a non-profit organization formed by the band Linkin Park, has generously agreed to support “For the Bayou” (an organization started solely to helping save our South Louisiana wetlands) this Memorial Day weekend via a texting donation campaign to raise money for emergency relief efforts along the oil soaked Gulf Coast.

By simply texting MFR to the number 90999 this Memorial Day Weekend, you will be donating $5 (via your phone bill) to Music For Relief. All funds raised over Memorial Day Weekend will be donated to For the Bayou for humanitarian and environmental relief efforts in Louisiana.

For the Bayou was started in 2008 by Elizabeth Goodwin Welborn, a Houma native who will be honored in 2 weeks in Baton Rouge by the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana by receiving their 2010 Friend of the Coalition Award.
