The Feds can partly blame themselves for this disaster. They have forced the oil and gas industry to push into deeper and deeper water since there isn't any more shallow water to go after. Open up the rest of the gulf, atlantic seaboard and pacific coast and there wouldn't be any reason to be drilling in over one mile of water.

MapGuy, I recieved the letter in PDF file form in an email from someone I trust wouldn't send me a bogus letter. I checked the Association website and it doesn't have this letter posted. LINK
All I can say is that this should be of great concern for everyone.

It's entertaining to watch the same guys who scold the fishermen and enviro types to calm down regarding the spill to all of the sudden turn hysterical and looking for something taller than Tiger Stadium to jump off of.
