Bayoudude, based on that map I would think the Pickets and the Mardi Gras are open. But people I have talked to have said they are closed. Have you heard anything?

They may very well be outside of the closure line. It is hard to tell on these maps since they give very little landmarks and distances. I would just go and see if anyone stops you. Print out the closure map and dispute it if you are stopped.

ETA: Most reports I am getting is that there is basically no one out on the water. Friend of mine was at his camp in Cocodrie and saw ZERO boats going down the canal over a four hour period.

This Federal line show that the Pickets and Mardi Gras rigs are closed.

Yep they are closed then. You will have to fish Mechant and Sister Lake for school trout.

If you are willing to brave an encounter with wildlife and fisheries you would probably mop up and have the place all to yourself.

You're right about that. What are the chances they will be out at night anyway/

No it wasn't.

Snapper season closed on July 24th

I stand corrected...I thought they were projecting a 50 day season this year.

Just curious, where do you find that info? I was able to find that red snapper season opens June 1 on multiple sites, but not the closing dates?
