Is anyone hearing any catch reports out of Cocodrie / Dularge from the west side of Last Island? Finally seeing some sort of break in work and thinking of heading west for a Week on the water. Thanks in advance

I fished from Calliou Boca to Coon Point on Saturday with limited sucess. the water clarity was marginal in the morning. I heard that once the tide started falling Saturday afternoon the trout bite was on fire in the area.

Thanks for the report. Based on NOAA charts, it seems the western 1/2 of the island south of Calliou Boca and beyond is open. Is that what you are finding? Also, is live bait a lost cause or should I get my hopes up?
Thanks in advance.

Ive heard on a few people catching some nice reds in the Montegut/Cocodrie area but I havent been able to get out much at all since the oil accident.
LSU color grubs and gold spoons were the bait of choice from what i hear
Lemma know how yall do

We'll probably pass each other - Safe trip and tight lines.

Yes...looking at the Wildlife and Fisheries website and given the coordinates the provided everything west of the rig in Calliou Boca was open, however I saw several people fishing the West Side of Whiskey Pass, so I don't think they are enforcing it to tightly.
We were able to find minnows in Cocodrie. Call a few of the bait shops and reserve some if you know you are going. I could not get Ricky on the Tracy Macy to anwser his cell, so I doubt he is working.

Fished Friday and Saturday with very limted success out there. Went this afternoon to Lake Boudreax and caught a limit of 18" to 22" reds.

Reports have been pretty good given that just about half of the parish is still closed. Not sure what rig they were on (they might have been fishing in a closed zone) but a client of ours destroyed the snapper this past weekend. I will be out on Lake Palourde this weekend trying my luck with crab traps. Probably not going to fish just take the kids for a ride in the tube and hopefully catch enough crabs to boil.
