There was a sign on the door as I was walking out, but I did not have time to read it.
The Marshals were expecting there to be a flood of people into the courthouse after lunch. There were already a few "extras" in the en banc courtroom this morning.

One of those was me.

I ducked out after the third one.

Second one...I was arguing the preemption issue for the appellant.

Damn you did an awesome job then. By far the best argument I heard out of all the attorneys we saw.
I'm just a lowly law intern out here, so I try to ease over and check out as many arguments as I can when the 5th Circuit is open.

Was so damned rushed. The other two times I have been up there, I had the full 20 to myself. Davis was pretty cool about letting me go over time, because the court is usually pretty damned tight on time.
I threw in the Grand Isle camp example when talking about the expert since he was also hearing the moratorium case his afternoon.

I actually perked up from my mini-slumber when that was thrown out.
I was there mostly to hear the criminal appeal. No offense, but civil litigation really bores the hell out of me.

Not a problem at all, it bores me at times also.

Yea I actually read that when I was checking out the calendar this morning.
I went outside to smoke a bit ago, and it looks like a mad house over there.
I really feel like an idiot for forgetting my badge today. Instant access has turned into no access. I refuse to wait in line.

I work around the Wisdom building, but damnit if I didn't forget my badge that would have given me access.
Badge? All you need is a photo ID.

No badge meant I would have had to wait in line like normal folk, take off my shoes for the metal detectors, and make sure I left all my extras in my office. I'm too lazy for that.
And, no, I don't work at the 5th.

Your other posts seemed to indicate that was not the case; however, I remembered that the Clerk's office is in the Federal Building across the street and thought you may work there.
I think I might kick back and watch the video feed later this afternoon.
