Poor baw on Sherwood.
He was gunning it, not knowing why he wasn’t moving, and the shaft was flopping around like a fish out of water.

I had this happen many moons ago. I had a leather dog leash that I used to tie the drive shaft up, and locked her in 4 wheel drive and went on to repair at home.
Reason #4,789,095 to own a 4x4.

I'm sure he had been wondering what that vibration was he had was feeling for the past week.

Same here. Nothing quite like the sound of a drive shaft come apart under full throttle!
I did a motor swap in my F150. Upgraded everything, except driveshaft and didn't install ladder bars. Got on it really hard, wheel hop started, factory driveshaft twisted into a pretzel. I didn't have to tie it up, because it was on the road, in a couple of pieces. Luckily, I was only a mile from home, so the "front wheel drive got me there without issue.
Huge driveshaft and ladder bars have been on my truck ever since.
