Had a similar thing happen. But RTG refused to pay at all. After several weeks of sending & resending photos of damages & other correspondence at their request, it was denied. They know how expensive & time consuming small claims court is.
We will never ever shop or buy there again. Worst customer service I have seen lately.

That sucks. Guess I’m lucky in this situation that they’re willing to pay something.

I had a washer/dryer delivered from Lowe's and when the delivery company hooked it up, they broke a water line and flooded my finished basement. Filed a claim with the delivery company but when they started dragging their feet (saying it was my fault because I wrapped the water hose around the pipe) I went to Lowe's and caused a scene. Because I bought from Lowe's and they subcontracted the delivery to another company, I felt they were liable. Got them to handle it and then they could try to get reimbursed from delivery company. They sent an adjuster out and within 3 weeks I had a check.
I'm not sure of your situation here but if the place you bought the bed was the one that hired them to deliver, this may be an avenue for you to explore.

Thought about that, but haven’t pulled the trigger to contact them. May give them a call today.

Settle with them, use a small brush and satin spar (etc.) varnish and that will disappear.
