Probably couldn't sell. For some reason Nazi stuff can have restrictions on selling.
I remember going to my geography prof's office to shoot the shite and walking into a conversation with a classmate headed to Germany over the summer. They stopped briefly and I could see the calculation going on in their heads before they just continued on. He was basically sending her on a scavenger hunt for a legit SS helmet. It's funny as I grow closer to his age at the time just how much our interests are nearly identical. Easily my favorite prof at State.

A little update on this thread.

Remember this item. Song and Servic book for Ship and Field.

The book was printing in 1941. The same Year that the USS Oklahoma was sunk at Pearl Harbor.

I picked it up and common sense dictates only 1 of 3 things could have happened.

1. It was printed but never made it to the ship. (Highly probable)
2. A sailor left the ship with it before Dec 7th. (A small chance)
3. It was found in the salvage of the USS Oklahoma. (Not very likely but could have happened.)

Through fate on a piece of art I am trying to get done, I met the man responsible for the USS Oklahoma memorial in Hawaii. It turns out that a box of these were found in a government warehouse and given to the man who (built) the USS Oklahoma memerial...

So... just to answer the question. They were printed in '41 but never made it to the ship before the attack...

Have a great day my td friends.

BTTT....

6 hours into Pearl Harbor.. Imagine being trapped alive inside an overturned battleship. I don't believe that any words could describe it and we as a Nation could not be more indebted to those young men on that day Dec 7, 1941.
