Agreed. This is something Cornette rails on all the time. It just waters down the effectiveness of the match when it’s big spotfest rather than the blow off of a huge feud. Punk/Drew hell in a cell and Rhodes/KO ladder match at the Rumble are great recent examples.
Cody putting KO through the ladders with the Alabama slam while looking like a psychotic Homelander was phenomenal for his character (until they screwed it up making him look like a fricking moron hesitating hitting Cena at WM
)

I don’t think they are. I do think they’re maybe opening up the door for AEW or someone to build up a bit though.
This is coming from someone who has never watched a minute of AEW but if another promo is basically like look we’re not going to be corporate whores that’s a pretty big natural angle to run with. A 2025 version of the attitude era to WWEs version of bloated WCW.

Well this is about to get interesting. The reason for 4 matches was because WWE has a mandate from TKO that they have to be of the air before the UFC event starts. So they've got 18 minutes to get these intros done, have the match, and have Seth's cash-in.

The ending was a little bit routine but I thought the match was entertaining and generally enjoy them
