Let me present it more like this:
Let's say a person has never seen GOTs or wrestling before
Which is easier: explaining to them why Jaime is called the Kingslayer or explaining why Seth is?
And that's the goal here, nicknames that get the character over to more and more ppl. A quick method of giving a uninformed person a basic idea of the character's attributes
