The issue is that most of the talent has to wrestle multiple nights per week, and while they’d like to do high spots and incredible stunts, it’s not realistic when working a full-time schedule as their bodies simply won’t hold up. McMahon can come in, almost kill himself and then rest for a few weeks until the WWE needs him again. He’s showing them up and potential stealing moments from them that could catapult their careers. “The one thing [Shane] has the advantage on, which the [full-time] guys don’t have, and I remember guys used to be critical of this when Shane would do the big bumps,” says Meltzer. “Because it was like, ‘Well, Shane’s gonna do one or two matches a year, and he’s gonna do this big bump, and he can get hurt and rest up. McMahon’s match with Kevin Owens is a Falls Count Anywhere match and that virtually guarantees McMahon will be trying to pull off a stunt that will have everyone talking.
