She was extremely sweet. Not a mean bone in her body.
Until they decide to eat a baby.

Can you own a pit and NOT be trashy?
Again, I am all for the eradication of the breeds. But I know a few sweet people that will take these monsters in an nurture them. But they don't have kid and would never have kids around these animals.
These people are far from trash.

frick no.
My SIL had one as a foster dog and my wife says, "she's so sweet, it'll be fine." I insisted that my 9mo didn't go over to stay the night. She reluctantly said, "yeah, I guess you're right." 3 weeks later that fricking spawn of hell bit the foster program's director on a home visit. I've never been more satisfied to tell anyone I told you so before in my life.
Needless to say, she got rid of the dog.

He was always so sweet. I just cant believe he did that!
This is never close to the truth. All those cases there are clear signs that the dog has aggression. That is the owners being blind to what they have actually raised. My friend's Ridgeback is the sweetest dog in the world to its owners but even he knows he would never trust it around friends and especially children. It's not that hard to be unbiased and say whether your dog has head problems or honestly would never hurt a fly.
