On my way home from a business trip and just paid $2.90 a gallon for regular unleaded just north of Memphis. I haven’t paid that much for fuel in a long time. At least not on the cheaper 87 octane. Seems like I paid $2.45 on the Gulf Coast when I left home Monday.

I’m not sure that is accurate.

I assume the tax may be higher since we don’t have income tax. But for the most part, I think it’s cheaper.

I didn’t have a choice. It was either fill up or start pushing.

Whoever said they just paid $1.99 in Memphis I don’t believe you. I paid about $2.50 in Little Rock and $2.60 in Springfield, MO.

I don’t care if you believe me. I paid 1.99 at Kroger not more than a hour ago.

The OP is fake news.

Unless just north of Memphis means somewhere in Missouri.

I didn’t use any discount. Just the 3 cents everyone gets.

Wow. Okay that’s way cheaper than I’ve seen since I was in Texas a month ago. I’ve been in 11 different states in the past 30 days and gas is on the way up. I was in Chattanooga and Nashville two weeks ago and fuel was in the $2.35 range. Just in the last 3-4 days I’m seeing gas spike significantly higher.
