Why does Bossier City smell like sewer? Hidy Ho!

This past week I have been doing a lot of driving, criss-crossing Bossier City, and finally have to say that just about everywhere I go in Bossier City I smell a strong odor of sewage.
After looking around the web I found several stories and comments from residents and visitors that confirm my olfactory observations.
Several pages mention ongoing work and repairs to municipal systems.
The stench starts as soon as the Red River is crossed from the west, as descending south from the town of Benton, when moving north on US71 from Taylortown and dropping down from Hillcrest/Red Chute over the bayou from the east.
I'm thinking of glueing a decal of the Southpark character Mr Hankey at all these "Welcome to Bossier City" signs, or maybe placing old toilets next to the signs.

This is an interesting post to wait 12 years for.
Growing up it was just the sewage plant on the bossier parkway that smelled. I never noticed a smell anywhere else. Lived in bossier 24 years, but haven’t been back in awhile.

I support this. Post photos when done.

Wife is from Bossier and I go often. Although it is not exactly exactly a cultural Mecca ,it also doesn't really smell any kind of way either....usually
