I tried all kinds of things on my baby's clothes when her diapers don't hold. The only thing that works consistently is running it under cold water and washing the stain out with a bar of soap (Dove or Jergens). I have no idea why the bar works better than the other stuff, including all the baby detergents, Shout, etc.
Then I'll throw it in the laundry and wash like usual, but it looks like new when it's done. No idea if it would be worth it for a whole load of soccer uniforms full of grass stains, but it works better than the "stain remover" stuff I've tried.

We use this for baseball uniforms. It's like $1.50 a bar, and it will take stains out better than anything I've ever seen. Looks like a regular bar of soap.
