Well that's not true. And the horses are put in trailers the entire time they aren't in the show...year round

Treated the same in that they are just as likely to be mistreated out in the general public as they are with the circus.

There are a ton of shitty horse and dog owners, particularly here where I live. They are not exclusive to the circus, so I find it difficult to direct any outrage in that direction.

Elephant mistreatment (in the US) was exclusive to the circus, so I'm glad that element has been removed.

I didn't know that about the cats. That is disappointing, but I guess not surprising.
