When package says "Included in the box" and it doesn't

Bought a Motorola baby monitor recently. Box said X, Y, and Z were all included in the box. Open the package, Z is missing. Go back to Babies R Us to return item. Worker tells us that it isn't included in the box and that there is a sheet of paper that you have to go online and request the item sent to be sent to you. Frustrated, I go home and go to request and they don't have any in stock. WTF Motorola?

Should have just exchanged it for another brand.
