I started doing this about a year ago, and it's awesome. I get all the stuff on sale, and I usually find better gifts than when I'm scrambling on the last week. Most of the time I'm not even actively searching, but I'll see something I know someone wants so I'll buy it and hold it.
Only down side is if it's something I also want I usually end up opening it and making it mine, and then I have to buy them something else
.

I don't... in the spirit of Christmas, I hand make all of my gifts from antique woods and precious metals.
