Daytona's and Birds always make me chuckle. They are so ugly they developed lot rot when new but now people think they are awesome.

Having seen plenty, they are still ugly.

Superbirds equipped with the top-of-the-line 426 cu in (7.0 L) Hemi engine with a pair of four barrel Carter AFB carburetors producing 425 hp could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds

Actually sounds like a great plan.

Keeping A/C can be a challenge however in that swap. And changing the #8 plug is a bitch.

The plan was good. He grabbed the 455 rocket and the TH400 trans from the Ninety-Eight.

The execution was not. At least, the outcome was not. It was a rocket while it lasted.

The rear end in the Cutlas lasted about 3 months.

Superbird

There was an orange one I would see around BTR in the early '70's. Finally got a chance to see it up close and was shocked to see how poorly the nose was fitted around the front clip. Also, the nose had a very slightly different shade of color than the rest of the vehicle. Read later that this was not unusual as the nose was fabricated and painted separately from the rest of the car at a different location. It was a hit or miss issue that Plymouth as well as buyers accepted with the car.
eta, this car did not have the Hemi. 440 IIRC
