MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The town of Tallulah has dealt with a water crisis since the beginning of January when temperatures first dipped below 32 degrees and froze the town's water supply.

Is it still froze?

Found a different story

The City of Tallulah has faced several weeks of low pressure and or no water due to freezing weather, frozen and busted pipes and malfunctions at our water plant, just as many other municipalities in the State of Louisiana. After believing that we had the problem in hand, early this morning we experienced a catastrophic power outage due to a transformer malfunction that did severe damage to our control panel. We have experts on site and appear to be on the road to fixing this problem. Right now, water has been re-established to some, but not all, customers. We will continue to add customers back with water service in a staggered manner. We appreciate the donations of water that we have received from everyone near and far. We will get through this crisis and come out a stronger Tallulah.”

I live in Tallulah...I’ll tell you what’s going on:

Tallulah was given a 22 million dollar grant two years ago and instead of updating the water facilities and infrastructure, they used it to pay off debt.

Tallulah mayor is a certified idiot a long with the rest of the elected officials. I live outside of the city limits so I’m on a different water source that is run by a private company. That private company has a much older system with less money, yet we have very minimal problems with it.

They were supposed to get water back today but “a transformer blew and melted the control panel on the water system today” ...it will be several more days at best.

Good news is that the Cajun navy is coming up to donate water.
