and 80 miles inland at Covington and Mandeville?
storm surge would have absolutely been a problem in Mandeville and Madisonville, I think Covington would have been fine though

it would have been no different than what actually happened. The surge would have come from the lake. And what was scene was pretty much maxed out for that body of water. I have written a paper on this. Lol.

So if Katrina would have made landfall West of New Orleans, let’s say Houma, the out come would all been the same??

Aren’t you a mall cop or a levee cop, something like that

Post your “paper” I’m sure we would all love to read it.

in Covington and Mandeville yes. Remember the area we were talking about.

we are talking about many more areas than just Covington and Mandeville. I already admitted my assessment was a stretch. Let focus on the other areas where I was right about.

But aren’t you a levee cop or something like that?

Seriously though CarRamrod, I’d like to read the paper you wrote about Katrina. I’m being serious.

Can you email it to me? My username @yahoo.com.

On our end, Katrina surge was 10’ above MSL. Had Katrina finished making the turn, Mobile east of I-65 and south of Old Shell would have been under 3’+ of surge, downtown 15’. I-10 wrecked. Probably lost the tunnels.

Alot of Mississippi never really recovered, sure they built some stuff back but its always felt a little off since the storm. Waveland and Pearlington and that area are still trying to come back 14 years after the fact.
