I strongly believe that if you can be so easily led to your own death, is there really a purpose for you being on this earth? I mean give me a fricking break. What is more crazy is I can see this as happening again.

Caveat is their children do not count in the award. The parents that allowed this to happen deserved to die. If there's a hell I hope they pick the pineapple shoved up their asses on a daily basis.

Probably. But the Branch-Davidians are at least in the conversation.

Can't sleep and just finished one on the DVR. Hadn't thought about this since I was about 16. Mind blowing hownsomebody could be this gullible. But the worst part was the actual audio at the end. And the fact these parents were forcing their own children to drink and syringes down their babies throats. frick all of them minus the children.

Most likely on college campuses following Trump's 2020 victory.

What I thought was really crazy story was how they had a house in town that they had a radio connection to. I believe their basketball team and other people who left the camp would stay there.

Well, the call went out that it was "go time" and the woman operating the radio receives it. People (cult members) staying there say this women who was as nice as can be comes out with a knife trying to stab them following orders. They had to fight their way out of the house.

Just nuts.

Jim Jones was a bigger psychopath than Charles Manson and it's not really close

I've read about half of Road to Jonestown and it's really good. For as much as I knew about the end in Guyana I never thought about who Jim Jones was.

If you really want to get down in the weeds of what happened at Jonestown, here's an oral history by a State Department diplomat stationed in Guyana who dealt extensively with the People's Temple over a period of a couple of years. He was at Jonestown with Congressman Ryan, witnessed his murder,.and was wounded himself. This is a long PDF file that covers his whole career. The Jonestown part starts on page 52. LINK

They mocked Ryan's wife and friends too. Said we just blew his brains out.
