Last night, I got travel on the updated J-Turn happy section of US 90 in Berwick and Patterson.

Now, it looks like there are only 2 stop lights left in that section.

One is by the Walmart, and the other is at the foot of the Morgan City bridge.

I know, I 49 is still a pipe dream on that section, but why did they have to spend time and money on J-Turns instead of true controlled access ramps and maybe service roads.

A couple of Texas U-turns and ramps from one way service roads would have been better.

The same is true in the Scott section where they will have to take those out to make it Interstate Grade. I guess this was Louisiana being Louisiana.

So OT-drivers, how many lights are left between Laffy and 310?

Completely agree. Probably spent 20 million on that project.

Would have been better to save that money and put it towards i49 completion.

I think the projected cost of converting the patterson/berwick segment to interstate standard is 400 million

My guess is that it will be a long time before that section is upgraded to interstate standards and the n turns are a huge safety improvement especially with all the 18 wheelers turning.

The j turns prevent the trailers from being being across the roadway should the trucking is waiting to turn.
