You are spot on. I know he made a tremendous amount of money building furniture for people after he had stopped his work as a geologist for Marathon Oil. There are so many things around this house that I use daily. While the cabinets are a bit dated at about 50 years old, they are solid as a rock. There are little storage areas in nooks all around the house. He built in ‘secret’ compartments for valuables. The list is endless.

My grandfather was a carpenter, he only had 6 full fingers.
I learned a lesson from that aspect of his woodworking skills.
