SFMR found 36 kt, so I guess it's real?

Despite this ragged appearance, data
from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft mission found
some believable SFMR winds northwest of the center that support
increasing the initial intensity to 40 kt.

it's definitely a missed opportunity from the NHC to not name the next one Clyde

Maybe it will make a left turn?

I would much rather get a weather report from Alexandra Hedlund.

This joke of a system is almost done with

It looks like another system might try and form in the Gulf. There are signals that the Gulf needs to be watched in the 7 - 10 day range but not really any details at this point.

I think the NWS is under orders to use as many names as possible to promote global warming .

As soon as the first estimate comes in at 39mph, "WE HAVE A TROPICAL STORM!!!!!"

I'm about 80 miles from Charleston "as the crow flies" and it's been alternating between torrential downpours and light rain with winds gusting to ~20-25 mph but nothing more than a light breeze sustained since about 3:30am. We're hearing to expect 3-5 inches of rain so some minor flooding of low-lying areas will be occurring.

Just hope this isn't foreshadowing a busy hurricane season for our coast.
